چکیده

This study proposes a new seawater desalination process using concentrated solar energy. Compared with conventional technologies, the proposed produces tap water high energy efficiency and lower environmental impact. The is based on type of boiler via “beam-down” optical system. Heat pumps as a source o f heat energy for desalination o f seawater

Thermal desalination plants consume large quantifies of heat energy for seawater evaporation. In condensing water vapor procured in evaporators and cooling distillate, a major part of heat energy is lost in the environment. Heat energy in processes of condensation and evaporation in desalination of seawater is quantitatively equal but these processes take place under different temperatures. Dif...

Environmental impact of seawater desalination plants.

Enormous amounts of seawater are desalted everyday worldwide. The total world production of fresh water from the sea is about 2621 mgd (9.92 million m(3) day(-1) 1985 figures). Desalting processes are normally associated with the rejection of high concentration waste brine from the plant itself or from the pretreatment units as well as during the cleaning period. In thermal processes, mainly mu...

Seawater desalination using renewable energy sources

The origin and continuation of mankind is based on water. Water is one of the most abundant resources on earth, covering three-fourths of the planet’s surface. However, about 97% of the earth’s water is salt water in the oceans, and a tiny 3% is fresh water. This small percentage of the earth’s water—which supplies most of human and animal needs—exists in ground water, lakes and rivers. The onl...
